BAMIT Alumni Visit KNUST to Explore Collaborations and Digital Learning Innovations


A group of fourteen Black Alumni of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (BAMIT), led by Dr. Debra Gay Carlton, visited the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

They were accompanied by four members of Elysium Tours Ghana. The delegation met with Professor Esmeranda Manful, Vice Dean of the International Programmes Office at KNUST, to explore potential collaborations and build networks. The BAMIT team, which included alumni from various graduating classes, visit to learn about the country's political and educational systems and its rich culture

As part of their visit, the BAMIT team toured KNUST's E-Learning Centre. This facility is pivotal in enhancing digital education and providing resources for online learning. The KNUST E-Learning Centre supports students with various online tools and platforms, enabling flexible learning.

The delegation observed how the center integrates technology into education, making learning accessible and efficient for students. The team also visited other key facilities at KNUST, including the University Information Technology Services (UITS), the Responsible Artificial Intelligence Lab (RAIL), and the Opoku Ware II Museum. The visit provided insights into KNUST’s technological advancements and its commitment to innovative education.
