Climax of the KNUST E-Learning Week Celebration 2023


The curtains on the KNUST E-Learning Week Celebration 2023 were drawn with a grand spectacle at the Evans-Anfom Auditorium on Friday, July 28, 2023. The Closing Session of the festivities brought together students, faculty, and staff in a vibrant celebration of digital education.

The highlight of the event was the "Tech Smartest", a challenge on Online Learning organized in collaboration with the Student Representative Council (SRC) for students. This engaging and competitive challenge saw representatives from all the six Colleges of the University go head-to-head. The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources emerged as the grand champion, showcasing their prowess in navigating the world of online learning.

Following the challenge, the Closing Ceremony became an occasion to honor deserving students and faculty members who had displayed exceptional innovation and commitment to the advancement of e-learning at KNUST. From each college, a faculty member and a student received the prestigious KNUST E-Learning Excellence Award for their exemplary use of the KNUST Learning Management System (LMS). These awardees were recognized for their contributions to making online education an integral part of the university's learning ecosystem.

In his closing address, the Pro Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ellis Owusu Dabo, acknowledged the week's achievements and emphasized the challenges that lay ahead. He encouraged the KNUST community to remain dedicated to the vision of "Education without Borders," calling for continued support, the right attitude, and ongoing improvement of processes. Prof. Dabo reaffirmed the university's commitment to digitalization, emphasizing that this journey was not merely a one-time event but a continuous effort to redefine education and inspire learners to embrace the endless possibilities of knowledge.

 

Pro VC acknowledged awardees

Earlier in the day, the university conducted a virtual engagement with prospective KNUST admission applicants, including both Undergraduate and Postgraduate (Regular and IDL) candidates. The session, titled "KNUST 2024: All You Need to Know," was facilitated by the University's Relations Officer, Dr. Norris Bekoe. This engagement aimed to provide prospective students with valuable information about the university's programs, admission process, and exciting opportunities that awaited them at KNUST.
