Instructional Design Unit plans for second semester online activities with the Director of E-Learning Centre
To maintain the university’s mission of delivering excellent tertiary education via the in-person lecturing and learning as well as the eLearning mode, the Centre has as part of its team instructional designers whose role cannot be overemphasised. On 9th of June 2022, Prof. Eric Appau Asante, Director for the Centre, met with the three-member instructional design team to deliberate on their plans for the second semester of the 2021/2022 academic year.
At this meeting, the Director entreated members of the team to apply the principles of education in the available study guide to augment content creation and development as well as to broaden the scope of the E-Learning Framework that has been piloted for use by lecturers. He also indicated there was a need to fast-track the adoption of the proposed framework by lecturers.
Syllabi can easily be fused within this framework, he intimated. Members of the design team also mentioned that some ways to facilitate the smooth sailing of their work is to liaise with faculty experts to create content and to entreat lecturers who may require any audio-visual post-production content to give adequate prior notice of this need. In considering other means of improving work delivery, the team agreed to develop an action plan that will guide them. They also consented to review this action plan in the next meeting to be organised.
