German universities explore partnerships with KNUST E-Learning Centre
Two universities from Germany, North-Rhine Westphalia University and the University of Cologne, have visited KNUST as part of efforts to explore partnerships in research, innovation, and industry engagement.
The delegation included Dr. Katja Margit Krämer Yang, Director of International Affairs at the University of Cologne, together with Georg Michael Verweyen, Robin Reiner Schallenberg, Johannes Lukas Müller, Yasmin Hesham Mohamed Ali Mohamed Ali Eid, Marvin Maul, Valerie Maria Wolf, Simon Julian Graw, Alvaro Chirigoto, Clara Friederieke Jacobi, and Marlena Hock.
During the visit, the team held discussions with KNUST’s research institutions and explored possible collaborations that would connect their universities with Ghanaian research and business ecosystems.
The visit also focused on opportunities for exchange programmes, joint research projects, and innovation partnerships that could link academia and industry across both countries.
At the KNUST E-Learning Centre, the Director, Professor Eric Appau Asante, made a presentation on the Centre’s activities, including its work in supporting digital learning, multimedia content production, and computer-based examinations.
The presentation highlighted how the Centre works with faculty, students, and industry to advance digital teaching and learning. The delegation toured some of the Centre’s facilities and engaged with staff on possible areas of cooperation.
