KNUST E-learning Centre and Seychelles University explore collaboration in education and research

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and Seychelles University are discussing partnerships in student exchange, faculty collaboration, and joint research programs.

A delegation from Seychelles University, led by Vice Chancellor Joëlle Perreau, visited the KNUST E-Learning Centre to explore areas of cooperation. But we are excited about the possibilities this engagement brings," she said. Joëlle highlighted the motivation for the visit, referencing a prior visit by the Seychelles President, who also serves as Chancellor of Seychelles University.

"Since his visit, he has been pushing for our Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to be fully implemented. We are eager to collaborate on programs, student exchanges, and joint research opportunities," she said.

She emphasized the benefits of working together. "Our university is small, but we see great opportunities. If we can have training programs where our students can study in both institutions, that would be valuable," she added. Dr. Justin Zelime, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Development at Seychelles University, outlined key areas for collaboration.

"We have departments in computing, education, languages, media studies, health, and social care.

There are research institutions focusing on education, social issues, and economic development. We hope to explore partnerships in these areas," he said. He also highlighted the importance of cultural exchanges.

"We recognize the attention KNUST gives to culture and heritage.

We would like to collaborate in research, business, sustainability, and peace studies," Dr. Zelime added. The Seychelles delegation also included Shaun Berlouis, Director of Finance, and Dolivette Chang-Ko, Director of Marketing, Communication, and Stakeholder Engagement.
