KNUST E-Learning Centre hosts SAP Training to Prepare Students for the Future of Work
The KNUST E-Learning Centre has partnered with SAP Africa and TGIS Africa to train students in SAP enterprise software, tools widely used in business, industry, and government.
The training introduced students to world business processes and the role of SAP in making work more efficient.
The session was led by Armstrong Agyei Kwakye of TGIS Africa and Oloruntonye Aderinola of SAP Africa.
Prof. Eric Appau Asante, Director of the KNUST E-Learning Centre, said the training aligns with the Centre’s focus on digital tools and work-ready skills.
The trainers explained how SAP runs key operations in sectors such as health, mining, energy, logistics, education, and manufacturing.
Students explored systems like SAP Business One and SAP S/4HANA and were shown how companies use these to manage data, people, and products.
Oloruntonye Aderinola from SAP Africa told students, “About 84% of global transactions touch an SAP system. The world is moving fast, and if you know how to manage systems like SAP, you have a strong chance in the job market.”
Armstrong Agyei Kwakye added, “SAP is not just for IT or business students. It’s for anyone who wants to understand how things work in real organisations from hospitals to power plants.”
Students also learned about SAP career paths.
The trainers shared that SAP consultants are in demand globally, and certifications can open doors across many industries. They revealed that SAP Africa is offering free certification access to students in Ghana.
“This certification normally costs over $1,200. But through this partnership, it’s being offered free to university students. That’s an opportunity you don’t want to miss,” Mr. Aderinola said.
Prof. Asante encouraged students to take the offer seriously.
