Mastercard Foundation Africa Higher Education Health Collaborative Partners with KNUST E-Learning Centre to Advance Health Promotion
In a collaboration aimed at transforming health promotion, education and entrepreneurship, the Mastercard Foundation Africa Higher Education Health Collaborative has joined forces with the KNUST E-Learning Centre.
Led by Daniel , the collaborative endeavors to promote health and foster entrepreneurship within the African context.
"Our vision is clear: to leverage innovative technologies and educational resources to empower individuals in the health sector," Daniel asserts. "With a focus on continuous professional development (CPD) programs, we aim to ensure that quality education is accessible to all, irrespective of geographical constraints."
As part of their strategic planning, the collaborative team embarked on a tour of the state-of-the-art virtual reality studios housed within the KNUST E-Learning Centre.
These cutting-edge technologies are poised to support the ambitious enterprise envisioned by the collaborative. "Virtual means will play a pivotal role in delivering CPD programs to a wide audience," Daniel explains. "Our partnership with the E-Learning Centre will be instrumental in realizing this goal."
Amidst discussions, Daniel emphasizes the importance of categorizing CPD programs to effectively address the diverse needs within the health profession. "We must ensure that our programs cover all facets of the health sector," he emphasizes. "With over 20,000 health professionals, it's imperative that we tailor our offerings to meet their specific requirements." Professor Wilberforce Owusu-Ansah underscores the progress made in leveraging virtual platforms for communication and collaboration.
"We've already conducted successful virtual meetings, setting the stage for seamless cooperation moving forward," he affirms.
During the meeting, Professor Eric Appau Asante, Director of the E-Learning Centre, delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the capabilities and resources available for the collaborative's initiatives.
Among the attendees were key stakeholders, including Prince Oduro, an IT expert, Eva Boakye-Yiadom, Project Manager at the Mastercard Africa Higher Education Health Collaborative, and Emmanuel Nii Okaidza-Afful, Director of UITS at KNUST. Their presence underscored the significance of interdisciplinary collaboration in driving impactful change.
With plans underway and the support of dedicated professionals, the Mastercard Foundation Africa Higher Education Health Collaborative and KNUST E-Learning Centre are poised to revolutionize health education, ensuring that the next generation of health professionals are equipped with the knowledge and skills to address the continent's evolving healthcare needs.
