Director of E-Learning interacts with academic HoDs and Program Coordinators
The E-Learning Centre Director has held a stakeholder meeting with Heads of department in the university. The Director in his submission mentioned that in line with the Vice-Chancellor’s digitization agenda, the Centre has planned for synchronous online teaching and learning.
He revealed that the Centre has provided a minimum of two zoom accounts for each program run by the university and pleaded with the heads of department to come up with schedules to optimize the use of the accounts for live tutorial sessions. The director also presented on the Centre’s newly developed platform for data visualization which captures metrics on course-lecturer assignment, lecturer-VClass usage, student-VClass usage and course material upload.
Prof. Asante intimated that the data visualization platform will aid the Centre in its operations at various levels of the university. The session was held jointly with the University Information Technology Services (UITS) who had a representative take participant through some ways of generating reports on students in the Students Information System (SIS).
The meeting was well attended by HoDs who were full of praise for the Vice-Chancellor and the Centre and asked for more of such opportunities. They also pleaded for enhancement in internet connectivity on campus.
