Agri-Impact CEO Meets New KNUST E-Learning Director to Strengthen Collaboration
The Chief Executive Officer of Agri-Impact Limited, Mr. Daniel Fahene Acquaye, has met the new Director of the KNUST E-Learning Centre, Professor Emmanuel Kofi Akowuah, to discuss ways of deepening collaboration between academia and industry in digital learning.
The meeting was the first official introduction between the two, following the leadership transition from the former Director, Professor Eric Appau Asante, who facilitated the engagement.

Professor Asante described Mr. Acquaye as one of the Centre’s longest-serving external collaborators and “an informal ambassador” for digital learning, noting his role in promoting partnerships between KNUST and industry.
Introducing the visitor to the new Director, Professor Asante said the relationship had always been one built on innovation and mutual trust. “We’ve worked together over the years to make e-learning visible beyond the campus. It’s good to see this connection continue as the Centre begins a new chapter.” Prof Asante said.
Welcoming the team, Professor Akowuah said the E-Learning Centre remained committed to expanding its partnerships and exploring new ways to connect learning with real-world applications.

“We are open to new ideas and partnerships that add value to what we do. Industry engagement is key in making e-learning sustainable and relevant. The Centre is ready to provide the tools, systems, and expertise to support these collaborations.”
Professor Akowuah outlined the Centre’s plans to strengthen digital learning infrastructure and promote computer-based examinations, immersive technologies, and professional training.

He said collaborations with industry would help KNUST translate its academic capacity into practical outcomes. “We are building on a strong foundation. The future of learning depends on how we use digital tools to connect knowledge with innovation.” he added.
Mr. Acquaye, who has long-standing ties with KNUST, praised the Centre’s progress and expressed interest in using its facilities to support Agri-Impact’s training and digital projects. He said he was particularly impressed by the Centre’s infrastructure and technical capacity.

“When I visited, I realised how much potential exists here. The E-Learning Centre has what it takes to serve both academia and industry. What we need now is stronger visibility and collaboration.” he said.
Mr. Acquaye explained that Agri-Impact, through support from the MasterCard Foundation, is implementing projects involving drone technology and digital solutions in agriculture.

He noted that partnerships with the E-Learning Centre could enhance training delivery, virtual learning, and monitoring systems for project beneficiaries. The team toured the Centre’s facilities, including digital learning studios, online assessment units, and virtual reality setups.
They discussed opportunities for industry training, capacity development, and shared projects with public and private institutions.
