ACU Engages KNUST Students on Academic Prospects in the Commonwealth


As part of the E-Learning Week at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), students recently had the opportunity to explore academic opportunities within the Commonwealth through a session with the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). The event aimed to foster deeper understanding and engagement among students regarding educational prospects available through Commonwealth institutions.

 Mr. Adeniyi Emmanuel, Regional Engagement Coordinator for Africa at ACU, highlighted the diverse educational offerings and collaborative opportunities available across Commonwealth universities. He emphasized the importance of global academic partnerships in advancing knowledge exchange and enhancing student experiences.

Collin Riordan, General Secretary of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, delivered an address highlighting the value of cross-border academic collaborations in tackling global challenges and promoting sustainable development. He encouraged students to consider the Commonwealth as a platform for pursuing academic excellence and fostering international connections.

The session engaged participants in discussions ranging from scholarship opportunities and research collaborations to cultural exchanges and career prospects within Commonwealth member countries. Students expressed enthusiasm about broadening their academic horizons and leveraging these opportunities to contribute meaningfully to global initiatives.

Director of the KNUST E-Learning Centre, Professor Eric Appau Asante, highlighted the KNUST E-Learning Week's significance in enhancing students' awareness of international academic pathways. He emphasized KNUST's commitment to providing platforms that empower students to explore global academic opportunities and expand their professional networks.

The interactive session concluded with a questions and answers segment where students engaged directly the ACU representatives, seeking advice on application processes, funding opportunities, and the benefits of studying in Commonwealth member institutions.
