KNUST E-Learning Centre Prepares Administrative Staff for 2026 Flagship Event – E-Learning International Conference and E-Learning Awareness Week 2026

The KNUST E-Learning Centre has held a meeting to prepare its administrative staff for the 2026 E-Learning Awareness Week and International Conference, scheduled for July.

The meeting was led by the Senior Assistant Registrar, Abigail Dzama Anderson, and brought together the Chief Administrative Assistant, Vivian Awunyo, and Senior Administrative Assistants including Harold Dylan Abakah, Emmanuel Sarpong, Mona Lisa Frimpong, and Gloria Benewaa.

The session focused on the role of administrators who will serve as secretaries on various committees for the event.

She stated that each subcommittee would meet and report to the main committee, and that administrators must ensure that records of meetings are accurate and submitted on time.

According to her, the role of a secretary goes beyond recording discussions. “You have to listen to everything, make sense of what is said, and put down what the committee decides,” she said.

She also advised staff to focus on decisions rather than long discussions, noting that minutes must reflect actions and follow-ups for each meeting.

The meeting also addressed coordination among committee members. Mrs Anderson said administrators should contact their chairpersons early, set up communication platforms, and begin work as soon as they receive their assignments.

She encouraged staff to seek support where needed. “If you have any difficulties or challenges, don’t hesitate to contact me,” she said, adding that drafts of minutes and reports should be shared for review before circulation.

Participants also raised concerns about the need for more training in administrative tasks. Senior Administrative Assistant, Mona Lisa Frimpong noted that some staff were still learning how to manage documentation and meeting processes.

The meeting forms part of preparations for the Centre’s main annual programme, the E-Learning Awareness Week and the E-Learning International Conference, which brings together students, staff, and partners to discuss digital learning.

Organisers say the administrative team will play a central role in ensuring that committee work is coordinated and delivered on schedule.
